History

Queensview Nursery School and Kindergarten is chartered and registered by the New York State Department of Education. The nursery school opened in February 1951. The kindergarten program was established in 1959. Built specifically for use as a preschool, the physical plant is ideal. Over the years it has earned an impressive reputation in the area, attracting children from distant parts of Queens as well as the immediate neighborhood.

Universal Pre-K (UPK)

Universal Pre-K!Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) is part of New York State educational reform legislation enacted in 1997. The UPK program calls for two and one half-hours of early childhood education per day for every four-year old, to be in school districts that choose to participate. This recognizes the critical importance of early learning for all children, and the role of child care, Head Start and family child care as part of an early education system.

Queensview Nursery School & Kindergarten is proud to take part in the Universal Pre-K (UPK) program. Please feel free to call us for more information.
